It is no surprise to know that the full size is one of the most aerobatic gliders in the world and this ST Model version is proud to bring that capability to you.

Like all ST Model aircraft, the Fox is moulded in tough EPO foam and finished to a very high standard. From opening the box to having the model ready to fly can take as little as 15 minutes and probably even less. The longest job is applying the decals! Just a couple of screws see the wings attached onto the carbon main spar, and as the servos and hinging is all done at the factory, that's it. One screw has the tailplane attached in a few seconds and then it is down to applying the decals and installing your receiver.

The powerful brushless, outrunner motor and ESC are pre-installed as is the 10 x 6 folding propeller. Even the ESC power wires have a 'Deans' type connector fitted.

With just a 3 cell 1000/1300mAh Li-po battery, she will climb strongly and be ready for a full schedule of aerobatics in no time. She is not that heavy so keep the speed up to get that crisp control response. Throttle back and fold the propeller for true glider performance.

Based on the classic DG1000 glider, this gorgeous model is accurately moulded in impact resistant EPO foam, even those sexy wing tips! The wings are removable for easy transport by just releasing one screw and are re-inforced with carbon tube to ensure rigidity and strength. The aileron servos are pre-installed, as are the servo extension leads and each aileron hinge is formed by the EPO foam for best efficiency.

The fuselage is also moulded in EPO foam with carbon fibre re-inforcement and the elevator and rudder pushrods pre-installed and connected to their respective servos. Just bolt on the tail and the assembly is done!

Now we come to the clever bit! Not only do you get a powerful, 1500kv, outrunner brushless motor, propeller and ESC as standard, you get a unique motor retraction system to fold it away into the fuselage. That system is servo driven and cleverly controlled by a special mixer unit (supplied). Closing the throttle stops the propeller and motor before fully retracting and closing the doors. This all operates from the throttle stick alone. Just nudge the throttle open again and the motor swings up before operating. If you use the optional switched channel, you can opt top keep the motor out and just control the throttle as normal. When the motor is away, the model becomes highly efficient and will stay aloft in minimal lift conditions.

Just fit a 3S 1300mah Li-Po battery plus receiver of your choice and you're ready to go. The power is sufficient for a pretty rapid ascent and you will get many climbs from one charge.

Orion Glider 1510mm Kit 159,00 Lt

In recent years there has been a dramatic increase in the popularity of 'hand launch' R/C gliders and we felt that our design expertise lent itself to coming up with a great model to suit this market. In order to make our design attractive to both general and specialist modellers alike, we decided that it should be capable of accommodating both standard size R/C gear as well as the latest micro equipment. The West Wings Orion fits those criteria exactly!

In all gliders, the choice of an effective wing section is the key to success. In choosing the high performance E205 wing section, the Orion can explore both the slow and fast ends of the performance envelope. The partial 'D' section leading edge provides the right mixture of strength and low weight and the dihedral wing tips give the stability needed in all conditions. All components are CNC cut from suitable grades of balsa sheet.

The fuselage has the ease of construction offered by CNC lite-ply and balsa components that slot together precisely in the hand. No jigs are required to assemble this fuselage. The overall weight and therefore the wing loading can be very low if the lightest R/C gear is used. This combined with the E205 wing section allows the pilot to explore the flight performance to the limit, even in the lowest lift conditions. Because of the good control authority and high speed performance, the Orion makes a handy slope soarer as well.

With the fitting of a ' hook', the Orion can be tow launched from flat fields for the easiest start to a 'thermal' flight.

As a first glider, the Orion can use standard R/C gear from other aircraft and allow you an easy and cheap entry into the wonderful world of silent flight.

Orion 'E' EP Glider Kit - 1510mm 179,00 Lt

The success of our Orion glider gave us a great idea, why not make an electric version? It was not quite as easy as that, as the Orion fuselage did not have the spare space and strength required to accommodate the motor, battery and speed controller. So we decided to design a new one! It's still a 'slot together' CNC cut design, similar to the Orion glider, but with the additional space and strength needed for the electric power equipment.

The new fuselage was designed to accept a standard 400 size motor and 7/8 cells (2/3 A size). These and the required 6 x 3 folding propeller are not supplied in the kit, but can easily be obtained from your local model shop.

The Orion wing was pretty strong but we've improved it with the addition of lower leading edge sheeting to create a full 'D' section. This easily copes with the increased load created by the extra weight in the Orion E.

Flight performance is almost 'sparkling' and well up to the standards of sophisticated models costing much more. Stability is good and you could easily use the Orion E as a second model after basic training.

With a span of just under 60", the Orion E could be a great model to pack for a family holiday. Small, no mess and loads of fun, what more could you want!

The Amethyst is a purpose-designed competition (A1) style glider with the sole aim of extracting absolute maximum performance from the design. Construction is from a majority of CNC cut components that build quickly and accurately. The wings are designed to be self jigging and are a real help when building from under-cambered ribs. The section chosen is the popular and well proven NACA 6409. As a competition glider, details of both 'De-Thermaliser' and 'Auto-Rudder' installations are shown. The more ingenious builder could probably fit micro R/C if he wanted! The Amethyst will appeal to the performance minded and those that want something a bit special.
